Refugees from Afghanistan living in Peshawar, Pakistan. 2000. Many Afghanies had left their home country due to a continuous state of civil war and foreign occupations. The Taliban that governed Afghanistan in the late 90s and enforced strict rules especially for women also contributed to many people leaving the country.
